How we review products

Our product pages are research roundups. We read manufacturer specifications and published reviews, then work out the money math: what a product costs against what it can save you. We do not claim to have tested products ourselves unless a page explicitly says so.

• We state our assumptions so you can swap in your own numbers.
• We list downsides and who should skip the product.
• We don't quote prices, because they change constantly. Links go to Amazon so you can see today's price.
• Commissions never affect our verdicts.
